Now i'm playing The Sims 2 on my computer... it's quite addictive cause u can do almost everything there... :D, and u can have pets too...
i suggest you to install this game, and download the custom objects or houses or "sims"/people
if u are interested, i have downloaded the objects mostly from modthesims, and i have searched for the best objects there... and i can upload them if u have less time to browse the mod webs... :D
